Spindle tree
I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to take a stab at it. It is one of those projects that I really wish I could keep as I will never be able to duplicate it. Enjoy
I loved this so much I made another one:)

Burn Pile Rescues
Last summer I went to a yard sale and the lady had so many awesome architectural pieces and sheds full of old wood furniture. In fact, I came home with a couple of pick up loads of treasures! But these, these beauties were all in a pile, waiting for the match! I just couldn't let them go up in smoke.
And I am so glad that I didn't!

Chairs, Chairs, Chairs
Lately I have been creating things out of chairs. Ever since I raided a burn pile a couple of weeks ago I can't help but think of ways to reuse those broken chair parts. I know it seems odd to have such a love for them, but it just seemed like a crime to even imagine that those 100 year old parts were soon to be ashes.
Oh the stories those chairs could probably tell! I feel so connected to history each time I save something from it's certain death. I can just see a family at the turn of the century sitting down together for supper discussing the events of the day. I wonder what the people would think if they could see the chairs now?
This bench is actually something I literally dreamed up. I woke up one morning with the idea of using the newel posts that I have accumulating in my basement. It's not exactly like I dreamed...it's better!

Reupholstered Chair
I tried my hand at reupholstering. I have often done items that just require a few staples that are hidden underneath, but never something that would be fully exposed. Luckily it didn't turn out too badly, so now I will be keeping my eyes peeled for more furniture, and not just of the wood type:)
This chair was a $6 yard sale find, and the ottoman was brought to me at the store. I bought it for $4. Not a bad set for $10! I scored the new fabric on the clearance rack and was ready to roll.
